Concerned members of the Freehold, NJ community are in the process of creating a non-profit fund to build a skate park in our town, preferably in Wynnefield Park. While there already exists a skate park at Liberty Oak Park, a very large subset of our young people would need to cross Route 9 and travel other dangerous roads for several miles in order to reach it.
The goal of this project is to provide a safe environment for young people to skate, exchange ideas, learn new skills and to integrate with other kids in their age groups. The specific goals of this website are:
- To provide information about status and goals of the fund
- To provide a convenient way to donate money to the fund electronically
- To provide a forum for the solicitation of suggestions from the skate community for park facilities
- To provide a forum for other feedback about the fund
Currently, this project is in its infancy and, as such, we have very few details about the specific location of the proposed park or the costs of its implementation. However, we are firmly committed to making it happen in a timely manner.
Our kids are skating right now. Let's give them a safe (and fun) place to do it as soon as we can.
